YOUTH RESILIENCE VIDEO PROJECT

Redbird Media Group and Maine Youth Thriving are launching a powerful video campaign to amplify the voices of Maine youth (ages 12+) and help them feel seen, heard, and empowered.

We are seeking youth participants willing to share their voices in short, direct-to-camera Public service announcement (PSA) videos. As a thank-you for their time, participants will receive a $20 gift card.

We need your help to recruit youth who are open to speaking about their challenges, hopes, and resilience in today’s world.

This initiative will feature a series of short, impactful videos with youth speaking authentically about their struggles, fears, and hopes. The goals of this project are to:

  • Help youth feel less isolated and more valued
  • Improve communication between youth, caregivers, and communities
  • Build resilience and hope through shared experiences

These PSAs will be distributed through social media, community gatherings, and newsletters to reach youth, caregivers, and support networks across Maine.

WHAT WE NEED

We are looking for diverse youth participants (ages 12+) from across Maine to share their perspectives. Participants will have a safe and supportive environment to express themselves on topics such as:

🗣️ "It’s scary to be a kid today because…"

🗣️ "Sometimes I feel…"

🗣️ "You can help by acknowledging our fears…"

Participation is completely voluntary and youth will be supported throughout the process.

HOW YOU CAN SUPPORT THIS PROJECT

💡 Spread the Word – Share this opportunity with youth and families in your network

📢 Encourage Participation – Connect interested youth with us

📍 Provide a Space – If possible, offer a location for youth to record their message

We want this project to reflect the real experiences of youth in Maine. Your support will help ensure their voices are heard and represented authentically.
