Spreading HOPE: Healthy Outcomes from Positive Experiences
August 8, 2022
Through new research on the science of Positive Childhood Experiences (PCEs), we know that brain development is impacted by both negative and positive experiences. This training will offer those working with children and families practical guidance in implementing a strengths-based approach that identifies, celebrates, and promotes access to key Positive Childhood Experiences. The presentation will cover the research behind PCEs and their mitigating effects on Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), the Four Building Blocks of HOPE, and the power of the brain to heal. We will also introduce some ideas of how to incorporate the HOPE framework into practice. Participants will leave with a deeper understanding of the science of PCEs and how to promote access to positive experiences through the building blocks of HOPE.
