Kini-Ana Tinkham, MRBN Interim Director, joined Spurwink’s clinical leaders Ben Strick, LCSW, and Rebecca Patkus, LCSW in a presentation at the State House in Augusta to share information about statewide resources about Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and building resilience.
The Spurwink Community Impact Forum attendees left with a better understanding of trauma, the prevalence of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), and the correlation between ACEs, health risk behaviors, and adolescent and adult health outcomes. Also discussed was how Trauma-informed Care can support people, how data can be used to track the support provided, and how to translate that into legislative action.
